Serbia-Bosnia relations strained, because the claim of genocide
Serbia has criticized the decision of Bosnia and Herzegovina to send the judgment on appeal in 2007 of a UN court that had rejected the Bosnian lawsuit against Serbia for genocide during the war of 1992-1995.
Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic told Serbian state television today that the decision was "very dangerous" and could "destabilize not only Bosnia and Herzegovina, but the entire region.
Bakir Izetbegovic, the Bosniak member of the Bosnian tripartite presidency, said yesterday that the Bosnian claims will be stored before it expires 10 years to submit the appeal request, ie before February 26.
The decision could spur political crisis in Bosnia, as Serb lawmakers have said they will boycott the Bosnian parliament in protest against the decision in question.
The International Court of Justice in 2007 has justified the government in Belgrade about the responsibility for the killing, rape and ethnic cleansing in Bosnia during the breakup of Yugoslavia in the 90s.
The decision, however, said that Belgrade has failed to prevent the genocide committed in the 1995 massacre in Srebrenica, where 8 thousand men and boys were killed by Bosnian Serb forces.
